Raandesk Gallery of Art was launched to make art collecting a contemporary and enjoyable experience. Virtually based, Raandesk showcases original, contemporary art by emerging artists working in a variety of media. ‘Virtually-based’, existing online and in temporary alternative site spaces makes browsing and buying art less intimidating – and accessible. ‘Emerging artists’ have art pieces that are themselves affordable, as works are priced based on the quality of the work and the artists’ true value today, with potential to grow in value in the future.  
 
‘Raandesk’ is hip, cool, unique, interesting – a noun, a verb, or an adjective – a word I imagined when I was young and have kept in my vocabulary. It was the perfect name for my gallery. I’m a member of the New York Incubator of Ladies Who Launch, and since I joined last year, I’ve experienced some of the best partnerships, professional contacts and good friendships with other women like me. It’s been amazing.  
 
The art bug struck me when I was young, and despite taking a different path as an attorney, my dream to have my own art gallery never faded. In 2005 I launched the Raandesk Gallery of Art online to showcase an eclectic, intriguing and evocative mix of original paintings, photography, drawings and sculpture. Today, the gallery includes over 300 artworks from more than two dozen international artists.  
 
To make art more inviting, I extend the reach of the web site with exhibitions and special events in alternative site venues such as wine bars, restaurants, industrial space, law firms, private condominiums and other business spaces. Raandesk also offers Art Rental and Art Consultation for individuals and companies that want to add more art to their worlds. My goal is to do spend less time practicing law – and more time sharing art!
